Money never changes the math

Every calculator on this site runs on official DFAS, JTR, DTMO, IRS, and VA figures, and cites the specific table or paragraph it used. No partner can pay to change a rate, a result, or a recommendation. If a company ever asked us to soften a number, the answer would be no and the partnership would end — see our methodology for how every figure gets sourced and updated.

We are also never paid to show you a particular calculator result. The numbers are the numbers.

How you will know a link is paid

Every paid link carries a visible “paid link” label right next to it. If a link does not have that label, it earns us nothing.
A plain-text disclosure appears on the page itself, directly above any group of paid links — not hidden in a tooltip, a pop-up, or this page alone.
Offers only ever appear after your result, never before it. You get your answer first.
Paid links are marked rel="sponsored" so search engines can identify them too.

Who we currently partner with

As of August 16, 2026:

Amazon Associates — moving and packing gear links on our PCS checklist. As an Amazon Associate, Military Toolkit earns from qualifying purchases.
Sovrn Commerce — merchant links (for example, moving supplies at Walmart) on our PCS checklist. Site approval is pending; links are labeled either way.

This policy was published before the first partner link went live, so the rules were in place first. We will keep this list current as partners are added or removed.

When we do add partners, they will come from categories that are genuinely relevant to a military move or a military financial decision — for example moving and auto-transport companies, lodging, storage, insurance, banking, and tax-preparation software. We only feature companies we would point a fellow service member toward.

Advertising

We have applied to display ads through Google AdSense. No third-party ads are being served on this site today. If and when they appear, they are advertising — clearly separated from our content and tools, never blended into a calculator — and they are not endorsements. Our Privacy Policy explains the cookies and consent choices involved.

Not a government website

Military Toolkit is a private, independently operated resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or authorized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Department of Defense (DoD), the Department of the Air Force, or any other U.S. government agency, department, or branch of the Armed Forces.

All pay, allowance, and entitlement figures are provided for informational and educational purposes from publicly available sources, including DFAS, the Joint Travel Regulations, and DTMO. Figures change and may contain errors — always confirm your specific situation with your finance office.

Any third-party product or service linked on this site — including mortgage, insurance, banking, lodging, or moving services — is offered by a private company, is not a government program, and is not guaranteed, reviewed, or endorsed by any government agency.
