Per references (a) through (c), the mission of a Department of Defense (DoD) Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Library Program is to support the following: readiness and the military mission; professional military and technical education and training; off-duty education; personal and technical skill development of members of the military community; quality of life at home and in deployed garrison and remote locations; lifelong learning; transition and career assistance; relocating assistance and leisure needs of the military community. DoD MWR libraries do not include medical, legal, technical, scientific and other libraries within DoD that focus on military occupational specialty education or academic specialties.
