Purpose, in the publication’s words
This regulation prescribes policy for the Army Retention Program and sets forth criteria and command re- sponsibilities for immediate continued service of enlistment of Soldiers currently serving in the Regular Army (RA) and enlistment and/or transfer and assignment of Soldiers processing from the RA to the Re- serve Components (RCs) of the Army.
