How the Carteret rate is used
TDY. Lodging is reimbursed at what you actually pay, up to $178.00 a night; M&IE is $74.00 a day, paid at 75% on the first and last day (JTR par. 020302). If a government meal is provided, the proportional meal rate ($41.00) replaces full M&IE.
PCS — Temporary Lodging Expense. TLE for a move to or from Carteret is built on these two figures times a family percentage, capped per day (JTR par. 0506). The TLE calculator already knows this locality — search it by name.
PCS — driving days. Travel days by POV are paid the flat standard CONUS per diem ($181.00), not the locality rate — see the MALT + per diem calculator.
