Purpose, in the publication’s words

This regulation prescribes policies and procedures and assigns responsibilities for the Sexual Harass- ment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program. It also assigns responsibilities for support ac- tivities. The SHARP policy enhances Army readiness by fostering a culture free of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and associated retaliatory behaviors. This regulation does not apply to Department of the Army (DA) Civilian sexual harassment victims covered under AR 690 – 600 and AR 690 – 12. Portions of this regulation that prescribe specific conduct are punitive and violations may subject offenders to nonju- dicial or judicial action under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).
